MTI Baths' Bowie Stands Out in 2021 Award Programs
MTI Baths is excited to announce that their Bowie freestanding tub has received multiple award wins from some of the leading design competitions around the world.
MTI Baths is honored to announce its win of a 2021 GOOD DESIGN® Award. Out of several thousand of the world’s leading manufacturers, MTI Baths was recognized for their innovation and cutting-edge design. In November, the jury met in New York and Los Angeles and selected product designs and graphics from over 55 countries worthy of the GOOD DESIGN® Award for their Design Excellence, and MTI’s Bowie was proudly among them. Founded in Chicago in 1950 by the The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, GOOD DESIGN® remains the oldest and the world’s most recognized program for design excellence worldwide. In addition to receiving credit on the Museum’s website at good-designawards.com, Bowie will be published in the GOOD DESIGN® Yearbook for 2021-2022.
The Bowie has also won in the International ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture competition for architecture, interior design, product design and brand communication. The ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture is an international architecture and design competition that focuses on the interplay of disciplines. It honours outstanding international architecture projects, innovative interior design and product design, and convincing communication concepts. After taking in over 500 entries submitted from all over the world in its inaugural year, the 2021 NY Product Design Awards drew to a close, and MTI Baths’ Bowie landed a victory with the Silver Award. The NY Product Design Awards competition honors talented product designers whose works improve one’s daily life. Another highlight for Bowie was being bestowed a 2021 Product of the Year Award from the Decorative Plumbing and Hardware Association. DPHA’s Product of the Year Program recognizes uniqueness, design, functionality, innovation and technological superiority. The Bowie tub was also awarded Special Mention in the Bath & Wellness category of the 2022 German Design Awards – one of the most highly respected international design competitions in the world. The German Design Council selects a panel of international design experts to judge the entries. According to a German Design Council statement, the jury for the award stated that the German Design Award winners have “managed to successfully set themselves apart from the masses and are subsequently entitled to compete with the finest in the field of product design.” The Special Mention distinction is awarded to products whose designs feature “particularly successful sub-aspects or solutions—an ‘award that honors the commitment of companies and designers,’” the statement said.
