Canadian Faucet Manufacturer BARIL Internationally Rewarded Twice
BARIL has received two prestigious design awards for its latest collection, Flora. The juries of the International Design Awards (IDA) and the Award for Design Excellence (ADEX) programs have both recognized the quality of Flora's design, a collection imagined and assembled by BARIL, under the artistic supervision of Mario Gagnon. First-time nominee BARIL, whose mission is to offer intelligently designed faucets, is proud to receive these honors for the first time.
BARIL won silver in the ‘product’ category of the International Design Awards. Other Canadian companies were among the winners notably Lemay, NEUF architect(e)s and Atelier TAG. All projects submitted to IDA are evaluated according to several criteria such as functionality, durability, aesthetics and even the 'emotional quotient', i.e. the product's ability to generate a sense of enjoyment and satisfaction in addition to fulfilling its practical purpose. Based in Budapest and Los Angeles, IDA received thousands of applications from 80 countries for this 15th edition. The jury was impressed by the quality of the projects and products, despite the challenges of the current pandemic.
As for the Los Angeles-based ADEX, BARIL stood out among 400 companies with the 'platinum' mention in the 'kitchen and bathroom' category, as well as with the Best of 2021 distinction from the Design Journal magazine. The ADEX awards cover several design disciplines ranging from art to urban planning, renovation and furnishing. Marie-Eve Baril, president of the company: ‘I am very proud of this recognition which has allowed BARIL to stand out internationally. These prizes reward the efforts of the team who worked hard on the collection last year, in the midst of a pandemic’.
